Her son Track Palin, 22 years old, was married 2 months ago to 21 year old Britta Hanson, his high school sweetheart. He's still an Army reservist. He's been busy with catching fish, and he intends to take college classes once the commerical fishing season is over.
Hanson is a University of Alaska nursing student. She's the daughter of Rev. Duane and Elizabeth Hanson, People reported.
So, they married 2 months ago. It was a very low-key event, and quite sudden. And guess what just happened?
She was thrown a baby shower. She's multiple months pregnant, and may be due as early as August. This news via "Gawker"
Now, I have no problem with Track marrying his longtime sweetheart. I have no problem with premartial sex either, and although I believe that the best path to follow is to be in a stable and committed relationship, typically married, for a while before having children, I don't have a problem with the two of them getting married two months ago, appparently as a result of her pregnancy.
It's the hypocrisy that bothers me. From what I've read, it looks like Sarah Palin and reportedly alsoSarah Palin's parents were all pregnant before marriage. In generations past, it was a fairly common happenstance that people had premarital sex, and got 'caught', then got married. I have no issue with it, because I recognize the likelihood that premaritial sex will happen. It's those who pretend that it's an entirely avoidable complication to dating who irk me. Sarah was married in late August, 1988, and her son was born the next April.
It's not easy to see in this photo, but one of the gifts she received in the lower left of the snapshot was a package of diapers. This picture was posted on Facebook by one of her friends, with many people commenting on their joy at the upcoming birth.
As Gawker points out
Britta's friends responded to the Facebook pictures with elation. But given the timing of Britta's pregnancy, the happy couple may want to tell Sarah Palin to shut up the next time she champions abstinence-only education or Bristol sermonizes against extramarital sex, lest the conception of another Palin grandchild and the rationale behind another well-publicized Palin marriage fall into question.
