The scandals that have plagued News Corporation for the past few weeks are not the first time that Rupert Murdoch and his company have been under public scrutiny. As the man behind the world’s largest media empire, Murdoch has pushed American politics in a conservative direction, defended repressive regimes in China, abused tax loopholes, and maintained offshore accounts in Cuba, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands.
