I just sent out this email to folks who probably read this blog less than you do.
I tried to keep is short and sweet.
Will you consider doing the same?
Dear Friend:
Last night, President Obama addressed the nation about the debt limit negotiations in Washington. As you may know, Rep Meehan is among those freshman legislators who has publicly stated that he is considering allowing our country to default. He, Pat Toomey and John Boehner are standing together, refusing to compromise with Democrats on any changes to the tax code, insisting instead on "deep spending cuts-only".
President Obama ended his speech with this request:
"The American people may have voted for divided government, but they didn’t vote for a dysfunctional government. So I’m asking you all to make your voice heard. If you want a balanced approach to reducing the deficit, let your member of Congress know. If you believe we can solve this problem through compromise, send that message."
Please join me in contacting to following two offices to request an end to intransigence and a willingness to compromise.
Thank you.
