Not a morning joe fan, but I agree with this:
The problem with Barack Obama is that he does not know how to play the politics game. We have repeatedly watched President Obama concede then whine after the fact of why he had to do it. We have continued to watch this President not get ahead of a story, come in after the fact and in the end lose the communication game, lose the leadership game and just concede.
If anyone believes that Obama is going to let this country's debt ceiling default, think again, he won't. If anyone believe that Obama will use the 14th Amendment to raise the debt ceiling, think again, he won't. He truly believes that whatever bill is framed must be bi-partisan. He will sign a debt ceiling with cuts to entitlement programs and NO TAX REVENUES/TAX HIKES.
In other words. The Tea Party will win.
President Obama will go around the country and try to explain his defeat, but who will care? The Obama Administration has always been on the wrong side of this issue. Poll, after poll continues to state that Americans care about one thing, JOBS. But this administration have been oblivious to the obvious because they did not do the right thing in the first place. So, now we see Obama picking a fight with congress and will eventually lose. We had to witness President Obama put, of all things, social security on the table for cuts and it will happen.
Sure, we can call congress. I did, along with emailing but will it work? I don't think so. In the end, President Obama is back in the GOP box and will have to do what they say, as he has been doing.
I hope that all I wrote above is wrong, but if President Obama caves and gives the Tea Party the entitlement cuts with no tax hikes, he will put his presidency and the Democratic Party in peril. Why? Simple, why should anyone be afraid or scared of the GOP? Everyone knows what the GOP have always wanted to do, President Obama is helping them along the way to get what they have always wanted, the start to cut entitlement programs. That alone is scaring many out here about Barack Obama.
From the Ed Show, worth a view, what Joan Walsh has to say nails it on JOBS:
