Well, maybe there is a chance to be heard.
I got an email this morning from the UFT- the NYC teacher's union about a March on Washington scheduled for August 27th.
The event is being put together by a large coalition of labor unions and civil rights groups.
The following day, August 28th is the 48th anniversary of the Dr. King's historic "I have a dream speech" and the 1963 March on Washington. On that day, the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial will be dedicated.
While the tea party loons needs about ten people to get all sorts of press coverage, I would say we need about eleventy billion people and that should get us a mention or two.
Seriously, and I don't know if it even possible with a month to go, but for this march to have any impact at all, it needs to be well over 500,000 people.
