Isn't that what many of you are always asking the Democrats?
Isn't that what Obama is always asking the Republicans?
"If you leave me, can I go with you"?
Can I tag along because I have no where else to go? Because I have no other choice.
No one else to turn to. Because the alternative is even worse.
Well, you've been left. The country has been left.
You coulda, shoulda worked on, demanded, the fundamentals like some of us called for to be our line in the sand
Meaning public campaign financing for elections. Getting the money out of government.
Pressing, really pressing to kill the special interest, the shadow government of revolving door rain makers for special interest in and out every administration.
All the players in and around the billion dollar political industry that work to obscure the real issues, to cover hidden agendas, that sniff out niche voters and single issue voters to bribe aboard, all for personal profit and present government to the public as a choice of sports teams instead of about governing for the good of the country..... Framing, they call it.
Do I have to spell it out...... CORRUPTION.
You know our old friend corruption...it's what churns out every FUBAR piece of legislation because it has to be cobbled together to protect the only people/entities that count while appearing to be something for ordinary Americans.
It's a tough job the WH and congress have pulling that off. Most times they call it compromise or bipartisanship. It's what whispers in the ear of Presidential decisions..donors, reelection, campaign donations, influence centers.
I guess the next election will be like all the others. Raise more money, yea gotta raise more and more and more money to win, whoever raises the most wins.
Isn't that what they tell us? Somehow it never feels like winning. It seems more like winning a prize you can't afford to pay the taxes on to claim.
But I guess you can always hope you can beat the system and get a fair deal and your fave legislation passed by a government and process rotten to the core. Toss your money and vote on the table and spin the wheel.
There has to be a better way. Think.
