Thousands upon thousands of political analysts of all political stripes have and will analyze, pick apart, discuss, and argue about the debt deal. And there will be thousands of divergent opinions. Here's mine: we do not know what this deal will do. No one does. No one can.
In all the political discussions about the debt deal, there will be many hypothesis argued and conclusions made. In reality, I venture that no one, no one at all, really knows what the far reaching effects of this deal are. It is simply too big, too contingent, and too undefined to accurately predict.
This deal could lead our Country into a depression.
This deal could lead to cuts in the big three.
This deal could irreably harm the poor, the elderly, and the working class.
Or
This deal could lead to a resurgence among Democrats.
This deal could be overturned.
This deal could be the catalyst toward a far brighter future.
We do not know. No one knows. Our fight is the next fight, to elect more and better Democrats.
What I do know is we need to seize this opportunity. Organize, contribute, run for office, do something. Let's seize our anger and make it useful.
