Just because you went and got yourself a Daily Kos membership doesn't make you special. So let's get the straight.
If you're a moderate, chances are you're still farther to the right than the far right would have been in the 90s. I haven't budged. But you "appear" to be in the center because of how far right the lunatics have gone.
Let's be honest. In a different, more normal time ... you would have been a republican. You would have been my political opponent then. You are my enemy now. The appeasement, the calls for "bi partisanship", the threats against those who speak to power that pretend to be progressive when all they are, are sheep herders leading the middle class to slaughter ... you are my enemies whether you have a membership here and call yourself a democrat or not.
I don't need to see the letter after your name. I don't care. All I need to do is see how you act, hear how you speak. pay attention to the kinds of things you overlook and the battles you think aren't worth fighting. And soon it becomes clearer than a name could ever make it.
I will vote for a democrat. Not what you call a democrat, someone who just happens to already be in power. Because he's not a democrat. If he was, he'd be working toward passing democratic legislation. All we've managed to do is give them everything, or I should say - give YOU everthing you want.
This is political war. And you don't frighten me, I'm not threatened by your "vote for anyone but Obama and you're voting republican" line of shit. Vote for Obama and you will get more of the republican conservative policies this web site stood to fight against not 5 years ago.
When this website first went up it was about crashing through doors, smashing old ways of thinking, and bringing real democratic ... PROGRESSIVE LIBERAL change to the country. Protection for the middle class against the slobs among the rich and corporations. Protection of the earth against corporate lunacy. Protection of the ideals of separation of church and state. And movement toward a stronger middle class through better jobs that offer equality and fairness.
You and your work have managed to give us none of these. What you've managed to bring us is precisely what Ronald Reagan himself would have gotten a standing ovation by his republican flotsam and jetsom for promising to deliver.
You are not one of us. You are the enemy. We will defeat you. Maybe not this election. Maybe not even the next. But the middle class knows what it knows, and it sees what it sees. And you are not fighting for truth, you're fighting to retain power. You don't frankly care what policies are left in your wake. I do. And I will also gravitate to other people who care.
Enjoy your control hiding among the progressive bushes, pretending to be a democrat. Your time will soon be up. And I will celebrate the death of everything you tried to do to this country.
