This diary is going to be short, but after my last diary talking about my sheer miserable situation, I figured I'd let everyone know the good news.
I'm starting over. It's a different area of work than I've been in before, and a lower salary than I was making, but it's one that offers merit raises and quick opportunity for promotion if you work hard and show ability. Moreover, it involves doing something I love to do, and for me, that's really important and makes me happy.
Now, you may wonder why I'm being vague. It's because I had an employment first. I was hired on the spot at the end of the interview, after which we commenced to doing all the normal hiring paperwork and policy review. Part of that was an anti-blogging policy. My new boss told me rather starkly, "Just say nothing about work. If blogs and social networks had been around when I started, I would've been fired five times over." In short, it said while they respect our right to have our opinions outside of work, they monitor blogging/social networking sites, and negative comments can get you fired. So, in short, I'm just not telling anyone where I work, and I have tight Facebook controls, so there you go.
But, all in all, right as I was on the ledge, I got hired, and I think I'm going to be happy at this job, and the cut I took at the start will hopefully be rectified by the chance to earn quick raises and promotions. So, yeah, next month's jobs report, I'll be one of those numbers. =)
