What's it going to take for him to fight back? For the life of me I don't understand his unwillingness to call the tea party and/or the republicans out for the S&P down grade.
Hard ball has been played in politics in the past and congress and the presidents have been able to get things done. President Clinton comes to mind. His fights with Newt and the republicans are stuff of legend and yet he presided over real economic prosperity.
It's not as if the Tea Party isn't making it easy. A few examples come to mind. One of their favorite points is to say if we increase taxes on the rich (job creators), eye roll, then we kill job creation. First, the corporate tax rate and personal tax rate for the wealthy were higher during the Clinton administration and millions of jobs were created. Secondly, we have had historic low taxes for both now since Bush came into office. Where are all the jobs?
Next, don't be afraid to call them economic terrorists. It's the term being used by people all around me. I live in Missouri, the middle america the Tea Party loves to talk about. So stop apologizing for the damn term. People here do blame the Tea Party.
Make the Republicans chose. Are they Republicans or Tea Party? Make them own the Tea baggers. Make Boehner and McConnell own them or call them out for the nuts they are. All i see is Obama giving them a free pass.
And for all of you who by this point in this diary have me pegged for a troll, a republican or whatever, I am President Obama's base and I'm sick and tired of watching a man I worked hard to get elected give away the things I care about. In all honesty, if he hasn't figured out by now that there is no benefit to working with the opposition then I'm going to have a hard time working for him.
