Me thinks I'm going to be S&Ped out again after the show, so let's wish Wisconsin great luck & {insert deity of your choice here} speed in taking back their state in tomorrow's recall elections!
Let's get SPARKy for a sparkin' Monday. There are a whole lot of mother sparkin' snakes in this mother sparkin' house! $aint $arah from Wasilla will friend me on Facebook & follow me on teh Twitter before this brilliant idea would take root at the institution where I work & teach. But, it would be damn entertaining if we did! ;D Finally, you better absodamnlutely stay off this lady's lawn; she'll kick a$$ and take names - literally!
On with The Rachel Maddow Show!
"The Political Brinksmanship of Recent Months..." - The "heat map" is red - purty! And, that Kramer dude still has a job after John Stewart eviscerated him?! Lordy... Again, in case y'all hadn't heard, today was a rather $hitacular day at the DOW. Stocks were being sold, and US Treasury bonds were being bought. Gold has gone up, too? Great...Lonesome Rhodes will be thrilled. S&P said treasury bonds SHOULDN'T be bought in their downgrade. O...K... I'm so glad I normally don't pay much attention to this $hit; I can feel brain cells dying. The draft S&P announcement had the bad maths; the final version eliminated that. But, we were downgraded anyway. Rachel said S&P are the new political pundits! :D Don't forget what Mitchie the Turtle McConnell said about the debt ceiling & taking hostages! I wonder if that quote was the straw that broke S&P's back?! ;D The only GOBP 2012 candidate who would vote to raise the debt ceiling is Jon Huntsman. The "beltway" is trying to blame both sides for the downgrade; Rachel called bull pucky on that memo! :D
"The Political Brinksmanship...Part Deux" - Rep. Barney Frank is back for post - S&P downgrade and post - $hitacular DOW day analysis. He's slamming S&P again like he did the other night. Rep. Frank wants American forces from all over the world to come back here; THAT would reduce spending nicely, thank you very much! And, that money could be used here at home. President Obama is less - than receptive to that plan, and Rep. Frank is NOT happy about that fact. Rep. Frank wants to go back to the Clinton tax rates; don't hold your breath on that, dear.
"Deadliest Day" - That helicopter crash news is just horrible; many of the Americans who died were part of SEAL Team 6 - the people who got OBL. The Taliban "took credit." The Taliban can eat $hit & die. Richard Engel's in Afghanistan. The most deadly day of over 10 years there says a lot about how things are going there. Ugh...*&^%$#@! It sounds like the Taliban got a "lucky shot"; I bet the families of those who were killed don't feel so lucky. Richard thinks our position in Afghanistan is very weak.
"Total Recall" - HEY! Did Rachel steal that segment title from Mr. Keith?! ;D Polls open at 7 a.m. WI time; Ed Schultz is in Madison, WI. He's expecting high turnout tomorrow; I hope high turnout is a good thing! :D Ed thinks tomorrow's result will determine "progressive" efforts all over the country for the next couple of years. Ed said Wall Street hates President Obama? Why?! He let them off scot - free after their role in the 2008 $hit, corporations are raking in more profits than they EVER have, etc! What...the...spark??!! CITIZEN'S UNITED is rearing its ugly rear in WI, too. Of course, DC "establishment" Dems don't get what's going on at the state level; most "establishment" Dems are just as beholden to corporate interests as the GOBP is.
Look at London! $HIT!! Austerity seems to have worked really well - NOT. Riots are going on in other British cities, too.
Governor Secessionist is planning trips to SC & NH on Saturday; he's more - than - likely going to be the newest member of the GOBP 2012 clown car.
We now might know where the cool million to Mittens' campaign came from. Some dude named Edward Conard donated the coin; he's also donated as much as he personally can.
