This was the moment when I got into this movement. I was a teenager in the 90s. I was lucky in that there was a great festival in Houston called the Westheimer Arts Festival. This is where I saw the Suspects for the first time;a great third wave ska band still around to this day, though Chris Kendrick was the best singer and he left the band.
Another great Houston ska band is Los Skarnales:
Ok, Now on to one of the most famous third wave ska labels in NY via Moon Ska records. The label was started by Robert "Bucket" Hingley, founding member of The Toasters as a means to distribute albums by The Toasters.
Don't cut it! Protect it! Pick it up!
It was also the start of one of my favorite bands, the Dance Hall Crashers.
Skanking pickle!
Ok everyone! Into lunges!
Mustard Plug!
Spring Heeled Jack!
This band is fun. lol. Satanic ska. Funny stuff.
And a modern third wave band that sounds just like old school ska who are amazing, Hepcat.
So many memories. Enjoy!
