People are fed up with gridlock in Washington and the fact that Washington is not focusing on the number one issue in America which is JOBS JOBS JOBS.
They are down on both parties and the President but are especially fed up with Republicans.
Several polls have shown this. Republicans are even less liked than during the impeachment of President Clinton.
Maybe it is a good thing that President Obama isn't asking Congress to come back this Summer. Perhaps Congress will hear from their constituents to stop focusing on the deficit and instead focus on job creation.
When Congress returns is the best time for President Obama and Democrats to push for a job creation bill to pass in Congress. We know that Senator Schumer is working on a jobs bill to pass in the Senate that includes $600 billion infrastructure bank designed to use only $10 billion of seed money from government payed for by tax receipts from a repatration holiday. The infrastructure bank is designed to put millions to works over several years. Schumer will also include tax credits for businesses who hire, payroll tax holiday, unemployment benefits, etc.
This is something that Democrats can run on as well as included other ideas. House Republicans will be focusing on a deregulation push to increase jobs which is a joke. The Fall will be a huge clash of ideas. Unclear what if anything will pass but it is important that Democrats come out swinging and punch Republicans in the teeth so to speak on job creation.
Perhaps finally the Congress will focus on jobs.
In all what these polls show that 2012 has the potential of being the 4th "change" election in a row. We shall see if President Obama/Democrats can hone a message worthy of being voted for in 2012.
Will it be Speaker Nancy Pelosi in 2012? You betcha!!!
