If I had a better way to communicate this idea to the WH I would do it. But at least I have DKos!
Here is a proposed message on the economy for the WH to carry forward in the remainder of 2011 and into the election season...follow me below the squigley:
"We must re-establish rules for our economy (ones that have existed in the past which have produced both robust AND equitable economic results) that guarantee that the vast majority of Americans, especially those who contribute to the economy by both production and consumption, are rewarded for their efforts, by creating the conditions for a better world for themselves and for their children … the way the American Dream has always functioned, when it has functioned as we all remember it.
The world [the other party] [my challenger] envision[s], is to promote conditions for “job creation,” which hinge on the lowering of middle class wages and living standards, and simultaneously reducing accountability of employers for their impacts on the living standards of their workers and the viability of the world that we live in. If they achieve their publicly stated goals, they will have created a world in which yours’ and your neighbors’ children will compete with each other to survive, barely buoyed by ever worse jobs. Economists call this a race to the bottom, a race which, in many ways the current Governor of Texas has “won” against his neighbor states. This is a race which I will not force middle class Americans to run. I call this approach the Death of the American Dream, and it will not happen on my watch,"
