This will be a short and relatively substance-free diary. I just can't refrain from sharing.
Just watched Andrea Mitchell interview Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell. She started off asking him about Rick Perry's comments about Bernanke and about the lack of patriotism in the heart of Barack Obama. McDonnell tried, rather unsuccessfully and against some resistance by Andrea, to brush it off. But then it got really interesting:
Listen -- any of those people on the stage the other night I think will do better in guiding America towards prosperity and opportunity, uh, than what we've got now -- and find ways to bridge the gap and bring Republicans and Democrats together.
The President's tone today I thought was saying, "I'm gonna propose a job creation program, and if they don't support it I'm gonna campaign against them." That's no way to do things if you're gonna get a legislative agenda passed. So I think he's gotta work on his tone as well.
Wait. Let me get this straight.
This guy
a/k/a this guy, a/k/a this guy, a/k/a this guy, is too combative in his tone, because he says that if they won't cooperate with him in enacting common-sense provisions to battle the most severe economic crisis facing this country, then that is something we will remind the voters of next year.
But these people
are paradigms of compromise, and if we just put them into the White House in 2013, they will show that hardnosed ol' Barack Obama what being bipartisan really looks like.
Sigh.
They long ago surpassed my ability to imagine just how stupid a human being can make a collection of words sound.
