Read my lips; no new Texans in the White House!
Let's get historical, shall we? :D On Aug. 17, 1969, the Woodstock Music and Art Fair concluded near Bethel, NY. Well, that calls for this.
One of my favorite actors evah is celebrating a birthday today; happy 68th birthday to Robert De Niro! I can't pick a favorite De Niro movie, so don't ask me to! :D
On with The Rachel Maddow Show!
"How the Midwest Was Won" - OH voters want to repeal the draconian union - busting law signed by Governor Former FAUX News employee. Said Governor indicated he'd be willing to negotiate? I'll believe THAT when I see it. No Dems in WI were recalled; 2 GOBP state Senators were. AND, the 1 GOBP majority is the single dude who voted AGAINST Governor Scotty Bald Spot's union - busting on the bat$hit side. The law in OH is more sparked up than in WI. Repealing of the cursed SB5 will be on the ballot in November. Ah ha! Governor Former FAUX News Employee wants the SB5 repeal off the ballots in exchange for "negotiating." Oh, please don't trust his "negotiating" skills! I'd reply "Nuts!" to him! :D It sounds like those behind the repeal effort intend to stand firm - GOOD! OH State Rep. Armond Budish gets to chat up "negotiations" regarding SB5. He's amused by the OH GOBP "come to Jesus moment." SB5 can't go into effect until after the vote in November. State Rep. Budish wants a full - page apology ad from his Governator & for the legislature to repeal the law their own damn selves; apparently, Governor Former FAUX News Employee wanted teachers to publish a full - page apology ad to him after he won. Cute!
"The Interview" - Oh good grief, we get Michael Steele tonight. Oye! He's all for discussion, negotiating, etc. Whatever. I look at him & think of leather lesbian bondage stripper clubs. An oath of office no longer makes politicos partisan? What's Mr. Steele been smoking?!
"Saving the Department of Saving the World" - Once you have 40 lbs. of quality uranium, it's not difficult to build a faboo nuclear bomb for Major Kong to ride on. :D Some dude in WI managed to recreate the Hiroshima bomb in his garage? Should I be impressed or petrified?! If you just want your basic "dirty bomb," just get your paws on a gross of radioactive material. South Africa seems to be quite the hub for radioactive transactions! Our country has now secured a whole mess of highly - enriched uranium from South Africa. Well, OK then! :D Kudos to the NNSA!! The GOBP in the House wants to put that agency on the budget chopping block. If Speaker Sobbing Small Price to Pay Goldilocks gets his way, Medicare goes away, the EPA goes away, funding for NPR goes away, etc. There's nothing in there about jobs. Rep. Ed Markey gets NNSA funding duty. He's going to fight the funding cuts for that agency as much as he can. Well, those efforts will mean jack & $hit in the House, but that effort will get nowhere fast in the Senate.
"It's For You" - The FL Governator is the least popular in the whole darn country - congrats! He's just winning friends & influencing people all over the darn place. So, he's trying a warm & fuzzy picture and working at a doughnut shop - where he was "fired" by "progressives!" HA! Now, he's trying robocalls to boost his popularity; yea, interrupt people's dinners & stuff! So, some FL residents are robocalling him!! :D
