Yep, they are everywhere. Oh, they don't call themselves 'greenies' anymore for obvious reasons. But they are the left of the left, way out in left field. And they are doing what they do best in events leading up to an important election. They are telling everyone to take their ball and go home because the Democrat is too similar to the Republican. There is no difference so why help out the Democrats. We will not participate until the Democrat party is the true party of the people...perfect in every way.
I've been down this road before, we all have. In 2000 I tried for a year to convince 97,000 greenies in my home state Florida to not jump off a cliff and take us all with them. But no, Gore was a corporatist, too close to the Clintons, a geek, too distant, not personable, not green enough for us. The greens had huge momentum nationally. Believe me, if 97,000 people in Florida were going to vote for Nader then nationally there was a lot of incentive for the greenies to feel confident. Of course when you look at the numbers which is what I did, they really didn't have a chance except as spoilers. And spoilers they were in epic proportion. Oh, you can say what you want about other voting problems in Florida but 97,000+ votes did the dirty trick.
So now they are back, calling themselves whatever but still the same message. The Democrats are no different that the republicans, what does it matter, this is change?, it's too slow. Same old.
I was hoping the greenies would grow up, but no....they still don't know how to play with others on the playground.
