This won't be much of a diary, just a place to hang a link. I'm a big fan of progressive talk radio and I listen to Ed Schultz nearly every day. Mike Papantonio was filling in for Ed today and he had a guy on named David DeGraw. DeGraw has a book coming out next month called The Road Through 2012: Revolution or World War III and he was on Pap's show to promote it. I was intrigued by the interview and went looking for the guy. He has a website called AmpedStatus and he has posted an extract from the book. I have never seen anyone put it all together the way this guy does. It's all there: Income Inequality, Wealth Disparity, Banksters, Health Insurance Crooks, Poverty, Incarceration and ALEC. It's got charts and links and if it had been written for this site I would call it The Perfect Diary. So go read it, you'll be glad you did, or maybe you'll be outraged.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

amped status is a remarkably cheesy looking site, looks like a cyber mimeograph.
i've kept this page bookmarked for the pretty graphs.

I ask because my husband is reading a book by William Greider - "Come Home, America" - and the author writes for 'The Nation'.

We bought the book from a dollar store, believe it or not, but my husband is really into reading that type of book and he's 3/4 through reading it, and we can't decide if it's right wing or left or in between.

It went to print in 2009, and my husband really likes that book because so much in it describes what's happening and has speculation for what might happen.

It's about the Plutocracy and the 'hidden plutocrats' behind our government and other governments in Europe.

It's not CT, but based on actual facts going back decades.

My husband likes the book because it confirms his beliefs of what's been happening when it comes to the corporations, and outsourcing is the biggest problem.
Tax breaks for supposedly American corporations that outsource jobs.

The author of the book states that Americans, no matter if you're a Tea Party person or whatever, but Americans know that something is very wrong with our government.

The author predicts riots, or an uprising, as this has all happened before, and Americans eventually do rise up and change occurs.

But he cautions that this time, because we are talking a Global economy, that this time, it could go either way - whereby things get better, or things get worse in a very bad way.

The author pulls no punches, and criticizes Carter, Reagan, Clinton, and Bush, but he praises FDR and the New Deal.

The book is so complicated that what I'm writing doesn't even scratch the surface.

He talks about the military industrial complex, talks about the Federal Reserve, talks about Corporate Lobbyists, talks about pensions, social security and health care, Tariffs, and the difference between Free Trade and Fair trade, etc.

You might want to check it out and check it out at your local dollar store!

My husband says that he agrees with 80% of everything in the book and trust me, my husband is very smart!
    He married me, didn't he?

    :-)

as is William Greider. That was a helluva' find. Come Home, America is his latest and I haven't read it because the library doesn't have it and I can't find it cheap.

Seriously, we bought it from the 'Dollar Tree' store.

And we paid one dollar for the book.

You would not believe the books in dollar stores or 99 cent stores.

We buy so many hardcovers and paperbacks new, from dollar stores.

I do not read the books as my husband.

My husband loves history or books concerning reality, whereby I love fiction and yes, romance/mystery/adventure books, and we buy them for a buck!

If you can't find it, send me a message through this site and give me your address, and I will send the book to you once we get home in September.

But my husband said when he finishes the book, we'll send it to you from Pagosa Springs.

It can't cost more than 3 bucks right?

He really likes the book, and he's taking a break from it right now, as FOOTBALL is on!
        LMAO

Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are playing, and sadly on FOX, as we boycott everything FOX, except when it comes to football.

And we're rooting for Philadelphia right now, and we always root for the AZ Cardinals, but we also root for anyone playing against Pittsburgh!

        LOL

If you send us your address, we'll mail it off before we get home.

And then we'd be interested to read a diary from you of what you think!

Does this mean that everyone in Baja can read it?

Honest to God, this is the very first time that I've ever trusted anyone on the NET, yet my husband was - Do it - what's the worst that can happen?

            LOL

If you ever come up for anything - weren't you talking about driving up for a meet?

            Let's meet.

You will love my husband, as he does not blog at all, but he loves that I do.

See, I don't read the books that he does, but am active on reading left-wing blog sites.

When it comes to DKOS, I have held back BIG time, as I am a very opinionated person when it comes to politics or everything for that matter.

I've blogged for years, but on other sites, and man, I so hate the ganging-up when I voiced my opinion.

I do not think that we're liberals or progressives since joining DKos.

We're liberal when it comes to civil rights, rights for gays, women and abortion, and we hate the GOP, so I guess that we're social liberals, but I do not fit in on this site and am scared to actually type what I think.

So, normally I stick with the Pootie diaries, as I so love those, and I also love the community diaries.

But when it comes to politics here, I refrain, as I'd most likely be HR'd into oblivion!

            LOL

to a specific user, like I did to you, it is a Private Message, or PM. We are the only ones who can read that thread. I'm going up to Phoenix for the ALEC protest Nov.30. We'll see if we can't set something up. In the meantime, we'll be pen pals, how delightfully old-fashioned. I'll send you a real letter with the books after Labor Day. Our reading habits are very much like yours, by the way. I read mostly non-fiction, including much military history, and Mrs. Zello reads mostly chick-lit. Football ? I prefer the college game, Go 'Cats!

I read quite a bit on that site, and while many of the facts are right, the VERY curious thing is the conclusion, the point of the site.

That group wants to get rid of the Federal Reserve.  They are painting Ben Bernanke as Satan and President Obama as a puppet.  And they are totally ignoring sensible and more easily achieved ways of causing change:

1.)  A Constitutional Amendment limiting the "speech" of corporations, also enacting other limits

2.)  Institute a progressive income tax with a 90% tax rate on the top one percent.

    3.)  Raise the minimum wage

    4.)  Strengthen unions

5.)  Break up the too-big-to-fail banks and other financial entities

It's like it's a deliberate way to channel economic rage into useless activities.

    •  Thanks for your take, (0+ / 0-)

I'd never read that site before. On the issue of the Fed, I agree with Taibbi that Alan Greenspan is the biggest asshole in the universe for shoveling free money to the banks for all those years. Believe me, I'm no Paultard but I'd like to see some kind of an audit. I'm with you on all your 5 points, by the way.
