In and article on the Washington Post's opinion page Eric Cantor shows just how bereft of ideas the Republican Party is, they have no solution to the nation's problems other than to give our collective wealth away.
But first they always have to whine:
The first is the federal government’s debt crisis, the result of decades of fiscal mismanagement by both political parties as well as unsustainable entitlement commitments
Well actually your party if the truth be told; unpaid for wars coupled with tax cuts turned the economy around until it damn near melted down.
The second is the jobs crisis, which has resulted in painful levels of unemployment and underemployment.
We have noticed just how much you care, what jobs bill has the House proposed?...Crickets...
Republicans passed a budget this spring, written by Rep. Paul Ryan
Which blew up in your face since around 2/3 of American's thought it was a sick joke, a real election loser, you knew it had no chance of passing the senate, but you insisted on wasting all our time. The real reason it failed was that it was politically toxic.
Unfortunately, we have found President Obama to be an unwilling partner when it comes to getting America’s fiscal house in order.
As John Boehner stated you only got 98% of what you wanted, I suppose the other 2% contained the miracle?
For example, though he often talks about millionaires, billionaires and corporate jet owners paying their “fair share,” behind closed doors the president admits to wanting to raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 per year and families and small businesses earning $250,000 per year.
Yes, only raising their taxes to Bill Clinton levels, you know the last time we balanced the budget...sigh. Those evil dark times of mass unemployment and....oh wait..
Yet last week, the president called for more stimulus spending paid for by higher taxes and more job-killing regulations.
Eric what have you done? Try to pass legislation to take control of women's bodies? Other than that the effort has been to shut government down and play chicken with the debt ceiling meanwhile dreaming of 50 million more without health care cover.
Eric's stunning solution to all our ills...you just know what is coming next after 40 years of trying the same thing....Oh come on....try
That is why this fall the Republican Party will pursue a legislative agenda that boosts economic growth through reducing the regulatory and tax burden. We will make sure that Washington policies are less restrictive to businesses small and large. Our goals include repealing the “3 percent withholding rule,” which serves as an effective tax increase on those who do business with the government, and overturning the EPA’s proposed regulations that inhibit jobs in areas as varied as cement and farm dust
hahahahaha
As Bush would say:
Or do you just assume Americans are fools?
The Republican Party; a one trick pony for the 1% who actually own it.
It's called asset stripping.
