This is a worthless diary. But It's mine, and I will say what I want. It is simply a list of my understanding of a number of public positions and minor happenings on the web, mostly Facebook. All regarding recall Governor Walker current events on-line that I'm aware of. Don't take anything overly seriously.
First of all the publicly silent list:
Democratic Party of Wisconsin: Go figure, no surprise here. The party central wants to wait and hope they can get the election on the November 2012 election ticket. Before the senate recall elections they promised an in depth discussion as soon as the recall election was over. As soon as the election was over they simply stated that they would support any grassroots movement to recall Walker. And they went silent. I'm disappointed.
We Are Wisconsin: Traffic has greatly slowed on their Facebook page and probably their webpage. As far as I'm aware they haven't made any announcements regarding the recall of Walker. No major updates on their website since the recall elections. If not for their thousands of members I would move them to the relaxing list, but they deserve mention, praise, and probably a much needed nap.
The publicly active list:
United Wisconsin(Facebook): Has a few hundred activists continuing to expand their database of people who want to recall Walker. Other than announcements that say they are talking to other organizations, they haven't made any public position on a recall timetable despite constant requests to do so.
Recalls United Wisconsin & Grassroots People to Recall Gov. Walker: Don't confuse it with United Wisconsin, or you may have a fight as recently happened between the two organizations. A few of their organizers are "go getters" and aren't afraid to loudly defend themselves, and it has hurt their reputation. These organizations are trying to start a November petition drive, if feasible, or as soon as enough people commit to fulfill their plan. They want 10,000 people to commit to gathering petitions at the outset and aim to achieve 1 million petition signatures in just a few days. They seem to have a Facebook only recruitment.
The troubling list:
The rumors are always a pain. The more recent is that the Obama campaign wants the Walker recall to go away. Now we have a small number of (Obama activists)? askingfor the recalls to be shut down on a small number of forums and Facebook pages. Unfortunately they are being taken somewhat seriously.
Governor Walker is trying to soft talk his way out of a recall election and quietly preparing for it at the same time. To a very minor extent he has probably been successful at both. Republicans party members are probably less likely to vote against him than they were a few months ago. It was bound to happen with the election year anyway.
The relaxing list:
That would be everyone else in the recall community who is actively watching, waiting, catching up on needed sleep, and possibly doing some minor fundraising. For sake of your webbrowser's inability to handle that list. I will skip over it for now. Great job guys/gals or whatever you consider yourself, hope to see you in the next round.
Sorry for not providing any background for those not greatly familiar with Wisconsin recall recent history. So, how much am I missing?
