A surgical nurse and mother of 4 was stabbed to death while still wearing her pajamas. Her lifeless body ended up in the parking lot of a restaurant.

The body of Sarah Yvonne Rucker, 42, of Wellington Drive in Deltona was discovered in the parking lot of a Miami Subs at 2035 W. State Road 434 in Longwood at 5:38 a.m. Monday, said Seminole sheriff's spokeswoman Kim Cannaday.
More after the fold.
This story starts off about 6 months ago when a woman calls 911 after her husband had almost choked her to death. He was recently released from jail for this.
Sarah Rucker had called 911 and tried to get help after her estranged husband, Mr. White had knocked her down, throwing a beer bottle at her and then stealing her cellphone and driving off with it.
There are three 911 calls that are combined into one recording here:
In the first 911 call you hear them scuffling and Sarah yelling at him to give her the cellphone back, she screams "WAYNE, STOP" and then the phone goes dead.
The second call you can hear a scuffle going on and the phone goes dead again.
In the final 911 call she makes, after no police response, Sarah begs them to get her phone back for her. You hear the 911 operator explaining to Sarah that her first two 911 call they could not triangulate and didn't know where she was or who it was that was calling. Sarah is upset that the police haven't gotten there yet and she explains that her cellphone is part of her job and she needs it back desperately.
"Could you please get my phone back from him," Rucker told a 911 operator. "This is the third phone, and if they call me for work, I'm in so much trouble. I'm gonna just find him myself."
She even asks the 911 operator:
"How long have I been talking to you? I could be dead."
The police claim they were searching for Mr. White's car to be sure he wasn't still in the area. They also claim they responded within 10 minutes of the call.
So, if she's on the phone for 15+ minutes and the police claim they responded within 10 minutes, that's 25 minutes after her call to 911.
While still waiting for the police to arrive and getting more and more frustrated she finally tells the 911 operater:
"I'm gonna get a gun and do what I have to do."
Here's some news reports on this tragedy:
http://intimateviolencedeathnews.blogspot.com/...
Rucker died of several stab wounds to the neck and face, Clark said.
"There were many of them, so it was a very violent death with a sharp-edged weapon like a knife," Clark said.
http://www.wftv.com/...
You can tell from the scene that she was fighting for her life and trying to evade him," said Lt. James Clark, of the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.
Now, investigators wonder why she left home after filing her initial report.
“Why she left the safety of her home. Was she lured? Was she followed?" said Clark.
Is this not blaming the victim? The police didn't respond fast enough and you can hear the frustration and stress this woman was under, 1 child in college, 3 others still in school. She's the only provider and clearly she's more afraid of losing her job than her life.
Is this not an indictment against this society? She's been convinced her life is her job, she has no other choices and what makes her life possible is her cellphone. Now understanding this maybe she went after Mr. White, maybe he came back and abducted her. The latter seems a bit more realistic since she was still in her pajamas when they found her!
I ask the gun-control advocates here how do we get protection when we need it the most? How does a mother of 4 and sole provider get it? How do we protect ourselves when the police can't?
It's clear it's all her fault, she didn't move into a shelter with her children 6 months ago (as the news reports imply she should have). Of course, why would she feel she had to? The police are there to "help us".
When does reality hit? When do those of us that believe it's her fault not understand that she really couldn't leave. Her only hope was the Police would do the job we all believe they were hired for, protecting us.
How many more victims will there be? How many more women like Sarah must die before gun control advocates understand that the Police have no Constitutional duty to protect the individual?
http://www.nytimes.com/...
WASHINGTON, June 27 - The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that the police did not have a constitutional duty to protect a person from harm, even a woman who had obtained a court-issued protective order against a violent husband making an arrest mandatory for a violation.
When will they accept this brutal murder as a consequence of 40+ yrs of the MSM propaganda demonizing firearms? When will they accept personal responsibility for promoting helplessness in our society? When will our laws actually be enforced? The estranged husband spent less than than 6 months, YES, less than 6 months in jail for attempted murder???? Why have we allowed such? OH, that's right, "It's only domestic abuse AND it's a black family, no biggie!" UGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Those damn labels! Is violence any different if it's "domestic"? IT'S STILL VIOLENCE, is it not?
Make us all responsible and accountable equally under the law. I'd bet you my entire life's salary if I were to almost kill my boss, I'd be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law where I'd spend minimum of 8-1/3 yrs to life in prison here in NYS!
As a non-gun owner, this story is another example of why I want my unalienable right to keep and bear arms left intact. If and when the need may arise where I feel compelled to purchase a firearm, I better be able to do so. I do not wish to become a statistic in someone else's yearly reports or worse, having the laws selectively enforced because I'm Black or Hispanic or Gay or Married or a WOMAN!
Any questions or comments?

Right to Keep and Bear Arms is a DKos group of second amendment supporters who also have progressive and liberal values. We don't think that being a liberal means one has to be anti-gun. Some of us are extreme in our second amendment views (no licensing, no restrictions on small arms) and some of us are more moderate (licensing, restrictions on small arms.) Moderate or extreme or somewhere in between, we hold one common belief: more gun control equals lost elections. We don't want a repeat of 1994. We are an inclusive group: if you see the Second Amendment as safeguarding our right to keep and bear arms individually, then come join us in our conversation. If you are against the right to keep and bear arms, come join our conversation. We look forward to seeing you, as long as you engage in a civil discussion. If you're just here to disrupt or troll, expect to get a Do Not Respond (DNR) comment and then be ignored. Insults, lies, and willful ignorance will be dealt with by normal community moderation. Disagreement by itself is not considered trolling.
