It's easy for everyone to see when a user has been banned -- the bony mojo is a dead giveaway. However, there are people who are being genuinely disruptive, but mostly in the way they rate.
Already this morning I've pulled the ratings ability for about 30 users. However, there is no way for the rest of the community to see that I've taken action on that user. So people say "user X has been banned, but user Y who is a shit stirrer gets off scott free!" Depending on what side of the Obama Schism the users X and Y are, you can determine who is pissed off or not, even if Y has gotten punished as well (if not as severely).
So my question, I guess, is whether we should make it clear in the mojo indicator when someone has had ratings removed? I can see pros and cons, but I'll let you guys make the case for each. Thanks.
