Yes, the good news is that Krugman didn't do a low groan (hardly any), he didn't ridicule nor did he chastise President Obama for his jobs plan. He actually said this:
http://www.nytimes.com/...
President Obama’s hair may not be on fire, but it’s definitely smoking; clearly and gratifyingly, he does grasp how desperate the jobs situation is.
Of course he then goes on to say that
his plan isn’t likely to become law, thanks to Republican opposition.
Either way Obama wins. If congress passes the bill....he wins.
If not, watch out you Republicans, cuz this guys gonna be proving to the people that you don't give two sh**s about them.
The PEOPLE will finally demand action. You know, the ones that hired you jokers.
More Krugman
The good news in all this is that by going bigger and bolder than expected, Mr. Obama may finally have set the stage for a political debate about job creation. For, in the end, nothing will be done until the American people demand action.
And the New York Times
http://www.nytimes.com/...
Perhaps as important, they heard a president who was lately passive but now newly energized, who passionately contrasted his vision of a government that plays its part in tough times with the Republicans’ vision of a government starved of the means to do so.
Okay, there's been a whole lot of pessimism and it's been warranted. But for tonite,
I'm going to take a few moments to enjoy a moment that offers some, dare I say it? Hope. And just to make sure that I don't get too sucked in by the moment, there's always this!
