Citizens United have a bee in their collective bonnet about the United Nations. Long a republican punching bag, the UN is aparently "Anti American", I have found in certain circles that means "does not believe in American Exceptionalism".
But now in what can only be described as odd timing I have been getting Robo calls from Mike Huckeby on behalf of his friend at Citizens United asking that I sign a million citizen petition to:
1) Defund the UN
2) "Take a jack hammer to the Building in NY and float it off to whichever country wants it".
Aparently the petition will go to Speaker Bone head, or some such Republican in Washington.
The odd part is the tone and timing, even odder was the point where the live person is supposed to come on and ask for my contribution/help went dead.
I know the idiots in republican land don't like the UN but claiming that this is a $3 billion saving and that it will help us is very strange. I thought that it was only the Birchers that were so anti UN. The $3 billion is nothing, less than we misplace every day in Afganistan, these days the UN essentially does everything the US asks of it. The Russians and Chinese rarely veto US demands and they provide cover for every invasion asked for .
This is all rather odd, it is the third time that the Ex Gov has robocalled me, last time it was topical if some what twisted on budget issues, this one was just odd. I did not even get a chance to tell the volunteer that I thought the whole thing was stupid. I think that Huckerby must be either desparate for attention or getting paid a lot of cash.
Anyone know why the sudden rush to put a million signitures in front of the orange man? after all it is less than 1 percent of the US population so it should not influence him too much. Citizens united could simply take the cash they are expendong on this and pay Bone head to do their bidding.
Huckerby apears more and more like a carnival barker on these appeals, more and further to the fringe every day and its not even as if he is running for president. Have the Koch brothers run out of other things to do with their cash?
