Is this the beginning of the Progressive Spring? Its about time. This site is a dictatorship, that is an acknowledged fact, even considered cute by many.
I don't consider hypocrisy cute. It has become the accepted norm in the Democratic party. We believe in lofty Democratic principles --just listen to our speeches-- but it is too inconvenient to live by them. Hey, just like the oligarchy, living according to any principles that aren't self serving may cost those in power --power!
Many of us, who still have values, can come up with our own reasons to boycott this website. Maybe we consider ourselves still Democrats, even if we don't want to spout Democratic talking points. Is being a mindless brainwashed automaton what Democrats look like? Maybe we believe a third party is the only thing that Obama really fears and the only thing that will move him back to becoming a Democrat.
I do sympathize with the owner, as an owner of my own website, which I promptly destroyed with my own megalomania. The power to obliterate your opponent instantly at the peak of your indignation with the push of a button is too much to control.
I know you have your own good reason to boycott. That's why I say broaden the boycott to include the wide range of all good reasons. This is a party of diversity.
Hopefully, a list of demands can be brought forward for discussion after a weeks boycott. If rejected, we can always start another website built around Democratic principles, or a progressive site built around progressive principles. Or maybe move to another site and build it up.
