You probably heard about the flight into Detroit yesterday, where two men and a woman were arrested and detained for "suspicious behavior" that apparently consisted of the two men using the bathroom.
This is the woman's story.
Silly me. I thought flying on 9/11 would be easy. I figured most people would choose not to fly that day so lines would be short, planes would be lightly filled and though security might be ratcheted up, we’d all feel safer knowing we had come a long way since that dreadful Tuesday morning 10 years ago.
But then armed officers stormed my plane, threw me in handcuffs and locked me up.
Please read the woman's story. It's chilling.
I have written diaries that I hoped would make the rec list. This is not one of them. I don't have time to write a "real" diary about this, nor to attend to the comments. I hope someone else does. This needs to be out there.
UPDATE: I do want to add a note about how very inaccurate the initial reports were. There is no indication that the woman was in the bathroom at the same time as one of the men. I see no reason to dispute her version of the events. The rumors that were being spread yesterday have sullied her reputation in just about every way imaginable.
SECOND UPDATE: Please note that there were two different incidents of suspected terrorism yesterday: One was AA Flight 34, from LA to NY, which was covered in Horace Boothroyd III's diary yesterday. This is a separate incident.
