Tonight we're liveblogging the results of two special elections to the House:
NY-09: David Weprin (D) vs. Bob Turner (R)
NV-02: Kate Marshall (D) vs. Mark Amodei (R)
Poll closing times: New York: 9pm Eastern | Nevada: 10pm Eastern / 7pm Pacific
Results: New York | Nevada
6:58 PM PT: Results are coming in... I guess. Exactly one precinct has now reported, in Queens. Tonight's a good example of how breaking things down by county really doesn't help us, since there are just two: Kings (Brooklyn) and Queens. So unless you've got something better than the AP's link (and I don't think such a thing exists), we're not going to know what neighborhoods are reporting as the votes come in.
Or, as Dave Weigel said on Twitter: "So excited for the hour when people check raw AP results and tweet them without context."
7:06 PM PT: Polls are closed now in Nevada as well.
7:13 PM PT: Heh. As Robert Harding says, this district will get eliminated in redistricting before the vote is finished being counted.
7:28 PM PT: LOL, right now, the Socialist Workers Party candidate has 9 votes and Bob Turner has 603. That's a total of 612. David Weprin has 611. Teeth being gnashed at Turner HQ?!?
7:34 PM PT: Votes from the Brooklyn section of the district are starting to come in. Just 4 precincts so far, but Turner leads by 30% in those portions.
