7 of 9 Witness have recanted their testimony
As a matter of fact, Troy Davis "
Didn't Do It". The crime of murdering an off duty police officer had no evidence - whatsoever - connecting Troy Anthony Davis to the crime. He was convicted by the testimony of 9 witnesses - but 7 of those witnesses have recanted their testimony (see the sworn testimonies (
here)). Of the 2 remaining, 1 party has heavy evidence providing corroborative testimony that he (Sylvester ["
Red"] Coles) did the crime (see Affdavits - scan to 2nd page (
here)).
Even the United States Supreme Court Justice (as denoted on the SCOTUS blog (here)) specified the fact of the high probability that Georgia will be putting an innocent man to death. As specifically remarked by Lyle Denniston of the SCOTUS Blog -
"In fact, two of the Justices, Stephen G. Breyer and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, had joined in a comment in August 2009 that there was in this case “a substantial risk of putting an innocent man to death.”
Amnesty International is spear-heading the September 16, 2011 International Solidarity Day (see Amnesty's website on Rally support requests (here)).
Amnesty International denotes the following on their story "Too Much Doubt"
Troy Davis was convicted of murdering a Georgia police officer in 1991. Nearly two decades later, Davis remains on death row — even though the case against him has fallen apart.
The case against him consisted entirely of witness testimony which contained inconsistencies even at the time of the trial. Since then, all but two of the state's non-police witnesses from the trial have recanted or contradicted their testimony.
Many of these witnesses have stated in sworn affidavits that they were pressured or coerced by police into testifying or signing statements against Troy Davis.
Global Action on Troy Davis's Behalf
Previously, there was success in halting an earlier execution date for Troy Davis. There was world wide gatherings to draw attention to his case and the obvious manifest injustice that might transpire in executing an innocent man. As can be seen in the Amnesty International pictures from the Global Action part of their website, there were rallies in Georgia, Italy, Germany, Rochester NY and many more.
This Friday, there are rallies to be announced all over the world. To begin with, the rally that was scheduled to transpire in Union Sq NYC - has been moved to Times Square. For further updates on where or to volunteer to form a rally go (here) & (here).

Martina Davis-Correia Heartwarming Public Apology to her Brother
Stating that her and her brother Troy Davis do not always see eye to eye, Martina Davis-Correia confessed that the frustration of the quest for justice pushed her to the limits and she walked out on her brother during a prison visit - over a petty argument on what was a correct biblical verse.
Martina denotes the fact (here) that her brother kept coming to the window to see if she was returning and called her to apologize if he made her angry. It makes this blogger burst with emotion to see this side of the human tragedy before us.
Please read her account of that trying day
About an hour later, (after Martina and Troy argued) [Martina's] Mama came out to the car. Every few minutes, Troy had gotten up and gone to the gate looking for me, she said. He thought maybe I had gone to the restroom and was coming back.
An hour after we got home, the phone rang. It was Troy. He wanted to apologize to me.
That’s when I realized: I could get up and leave when I felt like it, and Troy couldn’t. He was powerless to leave, powerless to go after me. And, frustrated as I was with his case, Troy’s sense of impotency ran far deeper. He had no control over his own life or over Georgia’s justice system, which is trying to kill him. And then, on top of it all, his older sister walked out on him, and he couldn’t do anything other than twist his neck as far as he could to look out the locked yellow gate to see if she was coming back.
With everything else stacked against him, he couldn’t stand the thought that his big sister was angry with him. No wonder Troy called me right away to tell me he was sorry, even though I had been the one who was wrong.
I hung up the phone and bawled.
Hugs to you Martina {{{{{{{Martina}}}}}}} - your humble public confession on being human during these tumultuous times brings sad, joyful tears of hope for all.

CNN story with Martina Davis-Correia detailing the case
One must bare in mind that this was a murder of an off duty police officer in Georgia 20 years ago. Though Georgia has climbed and clawed in a direction away from the southern mindset on the racial divides, the fact of the matter remains - justice for non whites is hard to find in Georgia still.
See the YouTube video of Martina and network news.

Please sign one of the many Petitions to save Troy Davis
Change.org Petition by Troy Davis's sister Kimberly with 200,000 signings (here).
ACLU Petition opposing the Death Penalty for Troy Davis (here)
Amnesty International Petition for Troy Davis (here).
Obviously Troy Davis did NOT do this crime.
When 1 witness has recanted their testimony,
that is enough to stop an execution.
Once 7 witnesses have confessed they lied to get a false conviction
The State of Georgia will be committing MURDER
- if they ignore such overwhelming, profuse & undeniable
corroborative evidence
of innocence.
Please do what you can on Friday,
to gather support to save Troy Davis from execution?
We CAN change the world, stopping 1 injustice at a time!
