This story is not about Ron Paul or his supporters who desire the uninsured to die rather than live. This story is about Ron Paul, his supporters and every other Republican, conservative or Tea Party member who does have insurance, gets sick and needs medical attention.
I've worked in the health care field for 25 years now. I have worked with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, nurse aids, phlebotomists, laboratory technicians, x-ray techs, nuclear techs and nearly every other health care worker working in the health care industry.
I want to make one thing very clear to the Ron Pauls, Scott Walkers and every other Republican, be they a politician or not, who has been complaining about and degrading uninsured Americans for getting sick.
One thing I have learned over my 25 years of experience is this: The mass majority of health care workers in America, and probably the rest of the world, are compassionate, caring, sympathetic and empathetic DEMOCRATS.
Republicans and conservatives have been betting that the compassion and empathy of America's health care workers will triumph over the disdain and anger they feel toward Republicans themselves.
Republicans have decided that a person's health is a product rather than a necessity. Yet Republicans overwhelmingly strive to restrict and deny women access to the product of contraception and abortion. They want to deny health care to the elderly by getting rid of Medicare, the most efficient health care insurance there is because it's an insurance policy run by the government instead of some private company. They are relentless in their attack on public employee's health care plans because they are paid for with tax dollars instead of corporate money, as if a government job is less worthy. They have even gone so far as to try to deny medical care based on political affiliation as if Democrats aren't as deserving of medical care as Republicans.
When the physician, Jack Cassell, posted a sign on his office door in Florida requesting Obama supporters to seek urological care elsewhere, I'm sure most of his patients, even Obama supporters, carried insurance, but I don't recall a single outcry from Republicans about the hypocrisy.
Republicans will spend tax dollars on the death of people thousands of miles away rather than spend tax dollars on the health of it's own citizens.
There is something wrong with people who choose to use tax dollars for war to kill their enemies but choose not to use tax dollars to protect and heal their own citizens.
I don't understand how Republicans rationalize this incongruity. The day will come when those who value life and work to maintain the health of others will recognize Republicans for what they are. They are a vector that carries a virulent disease that infects the human race.
Republicans are the contradiction and the flaw that retards the progress of the Human Race.
Republicans are the paradox.
