I'm on the scene at the #OccupyWallStreet with fellow kossack HankNYNY with a live blog report, and my first question to all of you is . . .
What the hell have you people done?
I'll tell you what you've done.
You guys and gals raised over $4000 for the #OccupyWallStreet media fund and sent our videos viral overnight. 13,000 views on this video of police violence against peaceful protestors, over 4,000 shares/tweets/likes of my diary on #OccupyWallStreet yesterday, and enough media coverage that The Colbert Report and, unfortunately, Foxaganda came down to conduct interviews today.
Let's get this diary viral as well. Like it, Rec it, Tweet it, run with it.
There is nothing DailyKos can't accomplish when we all work together.
There is nothing working class people can't accomplish when we all work together.
Unfortunately the arrests have continued. Here is a youtube clip from early today.
No word on when the NYPD will begin arresting the fraudulent banksters who crashed the economy for their own personal gain.
When I look at the crowds of people participating in the protests they are a blend of younger and older people of all races and religions. Very much the opposite of the overwhelmingly whiter, older and more insipid astroturfed teabagger protestors. Also, there is a lack of misspelled signs. Misspelled signs with rightwing talking points is a hallmark of astroturfed, pro corporate fake protests. We don't have that. Instead, this is what Democracy for the people looks like.
The funny thing about being unemployed is that you have lots of time to participate in our democracy. Maybe if these super rich clowns gave us jobs with good pay we wouldn't need to protest their greed.
So what I'd like to ask you now is, do you want moar? And if so, what can you do to help?
I am willing to stand up and FIGHT! So, who's coming with me?
Moar! below the squiggle . . .
So, what can you do right now to help fight the Wall Street greed that seeks to consumer everything?
1. Make this video viral. Can we do it? YES WE CAN!
2. Follow @WeAreTheOther99 on Twitter Too late, twitter suspended our account, for what valid reasons only they know., and but this video and article on your facebook account and any other social media that you use. Make it viral.
3. Make a donation to WeAreTheOther99%'s media fund. They need funding to stay active, and without huge corporate interests backing us up like the Teabaggers have, the only way this works is with your small donations. They've already raised over $4000, let's try and keep it going. Here are some pics of what your donations have been able to provide.
Flash drives, cell phone chargers, memory card readers, a hotspot for cell use, batteries, all of these things are essential to getting the grassroots media message out on the ground level, and your donations help make it all possible.
4. Get the word out about these protests of Wall Street's greed to everyone you know. Raise awareness, even if it is via word of mouth, every little bit helps.
I will be updating this diary ASAP with pics and other info from the ongoing protests, now in its' 5th day, but if you have any questions or suggestions, please leave them in the comments below.

4:41 PM PT: Okay, I just got home so I am going to try to update soon with some pics and other relevant info. My roomate Micheal is leaving for the US Army tomorrow so I am going to cook him a nice big going away dinner, so I may not put up updates as quick as I would like to, but I will be answering comments and posting pics as often as I can. Thank you to everyone for their support.
5:33 PM PT: The Colbert Report was at the protest today. Expect Colbertmentum to kick in ASAP. Awesomeness, the more the merrier.
Fox had a troll reporter there as well, dressed like a hippy with a "Save the whales" sign. The crowd was not pleased. Trollers gonna troll.
I'll be putting up some pics as soon as I can get them uploaded on my picturetrail account. I'll be back with another update and more info ASAP
