This bear has a little more to smile about today! :D
Let's move to "this day in history." There are a couple of fun birthdays to celebrate! Gary Cole is 55, and Sophia Loren is 77. OK, I'd wager that a whole lot of us have had a boss like Bill Lumburg! ;D And, if Sophia Loren still looks as good as she does because of pasta, there's hope for me yet! :D
Finally, at 12:01 a.m. today, DADT officially went the way of the dodo, Crystal Pepsi, and other horrible mistakes from history.
On with The Rachel Maddow Show!
"Day One" - Check local listings, but upon the death of DADT, there was no fire nor brimstone in Indianapolis, the White River didn't turn to blood, and there's no red moon. So, we're all so far so good! :D Oh my, I'm getting teary - eyed at all these service personnel coming out. Wow... :D The Washington Post is even keeping a list of where to celebrate the occasion & party heartily!! Wherever this gay serviceman is, he's gotta be happy!
Now, if loving stable homosexual couples could just get married everywhere... And, how 'bout all those discharged personnel who want to come back?! Wow, that couple that got married in VT last night are stud muffins!! Damn drool... ;D Lt. Josh Seefried (formerly a shadowed "JD Smith" on the show) & Lt. Colonel Victor Fehrenbach (Ret.) are par -taying tonight. :)
"Fringe and Purge" - Hey! It's glowing bugs!! :) I don't mind bugs, but this poor bug got named after Senator Lamar Alexander?! What did that poor bug do to deserve that?! He used to support science??!! Get outta here!!
He resigned his #3 Senate leadership role today; well, at least he wasn't #2 {insert rim shot here}! Some of the current GOBP think Senator Alexander's too moderate. Huh, they didn't hear him during the HCR $hit! YIKES! 65% of "moderates" support a tax hike on the super - rich, according to the New York Times. So much for that "pandering to the crazy lefties base" memo! A lot of people all over the damn country think the super rich should pay their fair share of taxes; heaven bless "class warfare!" ;D
"The Interview" - Rep. Nancy Pelosi's par - taying with our best, bravest, and brightest on a faboo day too long in coming. :) You will be able to knock me over with a feather if any similar parties are going on in my fair city. ;D While I'm happy President Obama got around to ending this shameful policy eventually, he could've at least on January 21, 2009 ended discharges under the policy pending review via executive order. Rep. Pelosi's not thinking about the bat$hit haters tonight; there should be partying camps outside of each of Senator McCentury's dozen or so houses! :D
"The Making of a Killing" - Me thinks another Troy Davis segment's on the way. If GA does execute him tomorrow, they will really be using prize stuff! *&^%$#@! The murder weapon in the Troy Davis case has never been found?! $HIT!! SCOTUS did stay a TX execution today. Huh! Crap, here's that execution $hit from the Reagan Library a couple weeks ago. *&^%$#@! I'm betting Governor Secession sees executions as a snuff film.
