John Lennon said it best in 1968, you know, “Revolution 1.”  Mr. Cantor’s revolution would end The Federal government as we know it, you know the government which would release help to those people affected by the recent natural disasters.  The issue was the funding of $1.5 billion in emergency disaster aid conditioned on matching cuts on a fuel-efficiency loan program.  Remember, the “conditional grant” policy was Cantor’s position just after the earth quake hit the 7th District in Virginia and after Hurricane Irene damaged parts of the 7th, and the entire Eastern Seaboard.  You might also remember that he tried, vainly, to backtrack from that statement, but he flipped the tortilla, and his fellow puppet, Boehner put together the bill to grant relief and condition this on cutting a program, which, ironically, was a job creator.  The Democrats in the House weren’t fooled, and they were joined by Republicans, most of whom, in another twist of fate, thought there were not enough cuts.

This brings us back to the reality that, in order to bring the government of the people, by the people and for the people, we need representatives of the real people, not the artificial ones, represented by Cantorites, bought and paid for by his true constituents, the large corporations whose benefits he would never dare cut or condition.  Remember those other words,

…we all want to change the world…
You say you’ll change the constitution
        Well you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it’s the institution
        Well you know
You better free your mind instead

Help me change the institution in 2012, help me fire Cantor in 2012, “Don’t you know it’s gonna be alright,” then…

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

    Manufacturing Loan Program...

House shoots down GOP proposal to cut $1.5B from advanced auto loan program - 9/22/11

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday rejected a proposal that would have cut $1.5 billion from the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program, which Democrats defended as a job creator in Michigan and several other states.

The stop-gap budget bill would have funded the government through mid-November, but unlike the version passed in the Senate, the House legislation would have offset increased disaster relief spending with a significant cut to the loan program. snip...

The loan program, signed into law in 2008 by then-President George W. Bush, has helped several auto manufacturers and suppliers retool their factories to produce the fuel-efficient vehicles of the future. The Energy Department estimates it has created or saved more than 40,000 jobs to date.

In Michigan, the program allowed Ford to update its Wayne Assembly Plant for global Focus production and is helping Severstal Dearborn retool its manufacturing facility to produce lightweight steel. continued...
