Postal workers take part in nationwide demonstration.

So, in solidarity, OccupyWallStreet NYC joined the Postal Workers today.  The gave the microphone to an OccupyWallStreet Protest.  Listen to the words.  My favorite crowd chant:

Union Busting is Disgusting

HR 1351 would let the Postal Service use billions of dollars in pension overpayments to meet a Congressional mandate to pre-fund* 75 years’ worth of health care benefits for future retirees.

The measure is being proposed after a year in which the post office suffered more than $8 billion in losses. Now the post office is facing a loss of $10 billion more.

*Who prefunds 75 years' worth of health care benefits?  We know what the goal is.

Another MSM fail:  Has this nationalwide demonstration been on the news?

I have a great idea!

Screw elections and this expensive election process.

Let's hire people to run the country.  Of course, they would have to abide by Right To Work Laws.  We can fire them at any time for any reason.

And, of course, they will all be part-time and ineligible for any benefits.

And, of course, we will only offer poor pay because we know people are desperate for a job.

All we need is a Human Resources Department to go through the resumes for those interested in being hired for

Supreme Court Justice (this will be a volunteer job, term limit 2 years)
And all the other offices presently requiring elections.

Put Politicians on notice:  Their Retirement Benefits are on the line.  Knock it off!

You are aware of the Golden Parachutes CongressCritters get if they serve for a long time, right?

LET'S SEND THIS MESSAGE TO THE CRACKPOTS demanding the Postal Service of the USA to pre-fund 75 years worth of health care benefits.

I like the idea of hiring people to run the country instead of elections.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
