My beloved girl Siren passed from this life to the next this morning, helped by my vet, Dr. Conner. She fought the cancer gallantly to the end, but the tumor had grown so large that she could barely walk, and her appetite had diminished to almost nothing.
I made the difficult decision to say good-bye last night, and held her in my arms as she went to sleep for the last time. It was a peaceful passing, and I commended her spirit to Lady Bast, the Egyptian patron goddess of cats, for her long and loyal service to her human companions over the years.
Thank you all for your support when she was diagnosed, and for your kind words over the past few months. Siren was a lovely, graceful, intelligent cat with beautiful green eyes and a piercing yowl that came from her Siamese ancestors, and I could tell a million stories about the seventeen years she shared this Earth with me.
Farewell, my darling girl. May you rest well, and when it's time for your next go-round, may you be as beautiful and loving as you were this time.
Peace,
Ellid
