Sometimes being a leader doesn't involve a complicated plan that took months to put together and may be impossible to implement. Sometimes it also doesn't mean bellowing propaganda out in the hopes of convincing the masses that you're right. Sometimes, it means smacking the drag-assers and telling them to get with the program.
Governor Jerry Brown did just that on September 30th, 2011 with this signing statement, which I encourage you to click on for full effect, even though the text of which is below:
To members of the California State Senate:
I am signing SB 769 which allows for a dead mountain lion to be stuffed and displayed.
This presumably important bill earned overwhelming support by both Republicans and Democrats.
If only that same energetic bipartisan spirit could be applied to creating clean energy jobs and ending tax laws that send jobs out of state.
Sincerely,
Edmund G. Brown
I'm sure there are a billion excuses for why the legislature can't get done what it should, and while some are valid, plenty are BS politics crap too. Kudos to the good governor for his leadership against the poo.
To the legislature in California: OOoooooohhh....OWNED. BURNED. BINK. etc.
