Not only will the revolution be televised, but, as we’ve seen from the Middle East to Wall street, protests are being meticulously documented by ordinary citizens and journalists alike across the globe.

That police action actually persuaded the media that had convinced itself that this growing assembly was not worth covering to cover it. Soon, thanks to research by the mysterious "Anonymous" activists able to identify the police commander responsible for using a chemical weapon against female protesters.
His name is Anthony Bolongna, and soon his email was hacked and his record of alleged earlier abuse incidents was publicized, apparently with his online porn collection.
Then, John Stewart stepped in Thursday with a hysterical report on the cop he called "TONY BALONEY," ridiculing him and the police force.
Perhaps, that is why the NYPD was more restrained Friday night and backed down with threatened arrests of a group of activist bicyclists called Critical Mass, that had shown up to show solidarity. When it was announced at a nightly meeting called the "General Assembly" that the bikers were at risk, hundreds of activists rushed out to show some solidarity to them---and, then, there were no arrests.
Perhaps this incident was evidence of sign I saw reading "The power of the people is greater than the people in power."

The longer this lasts, and is allowed to last, the more it is likely to grow.
Already intellectuals and writers like Chris Hedges are praising the protesters as "the best among us" and are imploring the rest of us to get involved:
"There are no excuses left. Either you join the revolt-taking place on Wall Street and in the financial districts of other cities across the country or you stand on the wrong side of history. Either you obstruct, in the only form left to us, which is civil disobedience, the plundering by the criminal class on Wall Street and accelerated destruction of the ecosystem that sustains the human species, or become the passive enabler."

2:08pm: From the livestream: Someone mentions that Michael Moore is in the park and Jason says he is going to go looking for him. I believe this would be his fourth visit. A woman comes by to talk on the livestream and says she was being interviewed by a German TV station. Jason says that they have a large media team, about 20. Now he is talking to someone from the German news TV outfit (says they are based in NY) and she says this is the third time they have been there. Now Jason is talking to someone from NY Civil Liberties Union, says to look for them in the park for questions or help -- look for "People's Justice" label.
2:05pm: A pic from Times Square. h/t to Greg Mitchell
2:00pm: From the livestream, a passerby says that there is a CNN truck at Zuccotti Park. And now they are broadcasting the current drum circle at the park.
1:58pm: From the Guardian:
Ben Bernanke, Fed chairman, is being quizzed in Washington about the state of the economy and has just been asked Occupy Wall St.
"I would just say that very generally people are quite unhappy about the state of the economy," he says and with "some justification."
"At some level I can't blame them, 9% unemployment and slow growth is not a good situation." He says. But don't expect to see Ben down in Zucotti Park any time soon.

1:56pm: Hmm, keep an eye out for "coalition of American businesses, called Win America" who are pushing for a tax holiday. Read this Guardian article for more: US firms cut thousands of jobs during last tax holiday, study reveals
1:53pm: Some pictures of The Occupied Wall Street Journal from Business Insider: Check Out The "Occupy Wall Street Journal" The Official Newspaper Of The Protesters. The publishers have not published a PDF yet, according to their web page. There is a PDF link floating around on Twitter but it is defective.

1:12pm: Buzzflash has some speculation about infiltration with an interesting conclusion:
The NYPD and FBI Are Trying to Infiltrate Wall Street Protest to Discredit It: Of This You Can Be Sure
You'll know about it instantly, because it will probably be the first time you'll see any serious interest in the Wall Street protests on TV. The revolution won't be televised; but the government takedown of democracy and peaceful assembly will be.
12:58pm: From the livestream, looks like chanting protesters are returning to the park. The sound is problematic. Someone in the chat stream says it sounds like dub step :) This is a big march. Many people, diverse in every way.

Note: It looks like the #needsoftheoccupiers hashtag is being hijacked by a bunch of jerks, including Michelle Malkin. I wonder if she sent her readers to do this. Hopefully they will bore of it soon. On the livestream, information about what they need is voiced multiple times per day and very often in the chat stream too so I doubt the hijackers will have much effect.
12:10pm: First mention of OccupyWallStreet in the Congressional Record?
kurious in the comments tells us that Senator Sanders and Ben Bernanke spoke about OWS in a hearing that was just adjourned.
Fed Chairman Says Economy Growing More Slowly than Expected
Today, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is testifying before Congress and is presenting his agency's report on monetary policy.
Bernanke is in front of the Joint Economic Committee to offer his outlook on the state of the economy, governmental financial policy, and federal spending priorities.

12:00pm: gulfgal98 in the comments says that today's march was scheduled for 11am. The livestream is now showing the march but it appears that they are having some technical difficulties. I assume the march got a late start but you can see it now on the livestream. It looks to me like they are marching near a Fed building right now. I can also see the 9/11 construction site.

N.Y. Police Can’t Use Bus Drivers in Wall St. Protest Arrests, Union Says
A court hearing is set for today on the request, said Jim Gannon, a spokesman for the union, which represents 38,000 members, including about 9,000 city bus drivers. Drivers were ordered on Oct. 1 to convey some of the 700 demonstrators arrested over the weekend during anti-Wall Street protests in lower Manhattan.
8:33am: From last night's Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Keith said he is going to go down to the park and that they are working out the details:
8:00am: Will Bunch (Attytood) of the Philadelphia Inquirer (and a Kossack):
AMERICAN SPRING? Is Occupy Wall Street a be-in, or a new movement?
There's something happening here, in a tree-lined swatch of concrete that lies exactly at the short midway point between the two disaster zones that have defined America's deeply troubled 21st century: the Ground Zero site of the 2001 terror attacks and the New York Stock Exchange that crashed and burned under attack from bankster shenanigans seven years later.
What it is, to continue the Buffalo Springfield paraphrase, ain't exactly clear. The ebbing and flowing tide of protesters who occupy the privately owned ground - they call it Liberty Park - by night and who march through Manhattan by day, have come here without specific demands, just a sense of outrage and their belief that too much power is concentrated among millionaires and billionaires who bought off both political parties with unlimited campaign cash.
12:41am: From the livestream: "Four cops standing over there"
"So we just had three police officers who wanted to check out our gnarly technology"
12:15am: Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary at Zuccotti Park yesterday.
