If you don't know Andrew Ross Sorkin, he's been "reporting" on the financial crisis from the beginning (he's written a book-turned-HBO-movie, but I'm not plugging it here). Matt Taibbi is constantly restraining himself from ranting about Sorkin's whorishness. The telling part, to me, is why Sorkin, by his own account, went to the protests:
I had gone down to Zuccotti Park to see the activist movement firsthand after getting a call from the chief executive of a major bank last week....
“Is this Occupy Wall Street thing a big deal?” the C.E.O. asked me. I didn’t have an answer. “We’re trying to figure out how much we should be worried about all of this,” he continued, clearly concerned. “Is this going to turn into a personal safety problem?”
Dutifully, Sorkin headed down to Occupy Wall Street to make sure our financial overlords are safe. There have been reports that Sorkin may have lost something during the recon mission:
The mainstream media is such a joke.
