Mark Ruffalo:
[ ... Those Critics] have forgotten 1776, and that revolution -- that was the great turning point, that created this democracy we are living under. And it was based on the same principles we have guiding us here. People were being oppressed by the ruling class. There was no justice. There was no sense of law. The Nobleman had all the cards, and the common man was made nothing more than a slave.
...
The People are waking up. This is a movement transcending political ideologies ... Like all great movements, it takes time to foment. ... for all voices to be heard. ...
It takes time to hear those many voices -- but we are hearing them, and they are saying:
"They want justice." People losing their homes to robo-bank-mortgage signings -- they want justice.
People losing their jobs, because corporate America is sending their jobs overseas, and then making records profits -- they want justice.
People are being left out in the streets and can't pay their Health Care.
This is not the America that we were promised, that certainly my generation, and the generation before that, was promise:
that this great burgeoning Middle Class, that had a growing income, that had a life that was livable -- that was enjoyable -- where they could 'pursue happiness'.
This is what's striking a tone for people ...
When you see the Tweeter feeds on this, it's amazing:
What's a 99%-er?
99%-ers are the people who are doing worse since the economic downturn in America.
...
We ARE the Change, we have been waiting for.
(Apologizes for any typos or mis-scriptions.)
Where is that America we were promised, anyways?
I think one of them "Job Creators", must have traded it in for that extra Condo in the Hamptons, instead.
Or sent the cash instead, to one of their favorite Citizens United front groups -- out there promoting more freedom and more power -- but only for the Top 1 percent ... you know, for that Status Quo.
