I have always loved doing art. My mother saved all of our report cards and my second grade teacher wrote a note to my parents saying “take a look at her artwork.” When the arthritis in my hands became so bad that I could no longer hold the paintbrush or pen for the length of time it took to do artwork I switched over to computer art. I started doing art that way in 1998. In the years since the models I use have become more lifelike. The more I do graphic art the more I learn. My Mom loved to look at the pictures I did. She especially loved it if I would put her “Pixie” in the pictures. Fortunately I had a good model of a black cat. Mom liked them so much that I started doing special pictures for her for Christmas, Mother’s Day and her birthday. These are the Pixie pictures that brightened Mom’s days.
Mom never saw this picture. I did this one after she passed away. It is called “Caregiver” and I did it to commemorate the bond that Pixie and I have for taking care of Mom.
