Alabama's dream?
I hope by now you've heard of Alabama's law targeting children for "data gathering" at public schools. The
racist state senator Scott Beason, notable for his characterization of the blacks of Alabama as "aborigines", was behind this POS.
Of course the real purpose is to run Hispanic families out of the state, whether they are legal or not, because who's going to want to live in a state where this type of government "data gathering" and "publishing" is going on about your children?
What if, for example, the state wanted to "gather" and "publish" statistics on children's religion and then was going to publish a breakdown by the numbers in each school of Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc.?
And children, who in their innocence, do not understand how a person can be illegal, are confused. A HuffPo article reports a teacher saying:
My sixth graders of African American descent were asking me if they were going to have to go back to Africa.
And here from thinkprogress.com is the money quote from Herr Beason:
Back in February, Beason warned Republicans that immigration will “destroy a community” and advised his colleagues to “empty the clip and do what has to be done.” Beason later insisted that his comments were taken out of context and that he was using an analogy, not urging violence.
Yes, this is the climate of fear that the Sovereign State of Alabama has chosen to construct.
