Politico has broken a shocking story that none of us could have seen coming. Billionaire and NYC mayor, Michael Bloomberg has come out against OWS, saying that "if you want jobs you have to assist companies and give them confidence to go and hire people." Have you thanked a banker today? Sure we gave them a ton of money while they increase fees and pass out executive bonuses, but the banks have nevertheless not been feeling confident lately. Poor guys, lots of us who are struggling to find work and make ends meet know what he means about a lack of confidence.
(Politico story here)Bloomberg added, "What they’re trying to do is take away the jobs of people working in the city." Exactly, Bloomberg. OWS is trying to get the secretaries and janitorial staff fired. OWS protesters hate jobs, that's why they have all those signs complaining about over-employment and too much pay for the working class. Thanks for defending us against our attacks.
He also reminded the misguided protesters that "their salaries come from - are paid by - some of the people they’re trying to vilify." Actually, those salaries aren't gifts, Bloomberg. They got the salaries in exchange for labor. If working class people are drawing salaries in exchange for nothing, I'd certainly like to know about it. It just might be time for me to make a career move. I can assure you, if a banker is willing to give me money on suffrance alone rather than in exchange for labor, I'll start a counter-protest against OWS.
