My fiance and I have just gotten back from tonight's OccupyWallstreet Solidarity event in downtown Minneapolis at the Hennepin County Government Center and it was definitely a peaceful protest. The Hennepin County Sheriff's and Minneapolis Police Department Police officers were truely on their best behavior and so were the courageous citizens of Minneapolis who were in attendance.

It's really hard for me to say how the entire day has gone for these folks as I was at work until 5:00 and didn't actually arrive to the event until a little after 7:00, but from what we saw this event was definitely peaceful. There were probably only 10 law enforcement officers that we saw and they seemed to be pretty relaxed and actually looked as though they were enjoying themselves.
My fiance and I had missed the General Assembley meeting so I can't report first hand how it went but tomorrow we plan on going down to the Government Center early so we don't miss out on anything. We will also be gathering some items from home to bring to the donation booth. This will be a two-fold benefit, on one hand we are able help the cause with some of the things they have asked for and secondly it will help us get rid of some of our unwanted items that are just not needed. If you have anything you'd like to donate i'm sure they'd be more than happy to take it off your hands.
Well as promised earlier here are the pictures from tonight's event.
Enjoy!
