Occupy Madison started Friday at Reynolds Park in Madison, Wisconsin. I arrived at around 6:00 pm. I parked down the road a piece in front of Breese Stevens Field, fittingly a WPA project from the Great Depression.
NYPD please note: this is how you get along with protesters...you have a dialogue with them. The rules were yes, you can sleep in the park, no, you cannot have tents as they will violate health department rules. (Yet they allowed tents on the sidewalk at Walkerville).

The inconspicuous police command center.
The local press on site.
The MPD drove around the block about once every 15-20 minutes.
