Here in the greater Raleigh / Wake County North Carolina area, we've had a big battle going on regarding the tea party infused School Board and their attempts to return the diverse and nationally well respected Wake County School District to "neighborhood schools" (aka: we don't need any brown people in our white neighborhoods any more, thank you). Taking back our country truly has turned into a pre-civil rights mindset with these teapublican cretins and they will stop at nothing to make sure that happens. However, the people of Wake County have decided to wake up (pun intended) and fight back. ng>Hard.
Elections will be held this Tuesday for open school board positions, and what I'm seeing on my television and reading in my local news is very inspiring. Now this is how progressives fight!
Mosey on down below the pretty calligraphy to see how the concerned majority are taking the battle to the teahadists.
School board races rage
The most expensive campaign in Wake County school board history has raised at least $385,000 and funded a flurry of campaign ads that have become progressively more negative heading into Tuesday's election.
Republican school board candidates and allies have charged that Democratic candidates will block neighborhood schools and linked them to the NAACP's Rev. William Barber.
Democratic school board candidates and their supporters have accused the Republican candidates of promoting a tea party agenda and jeopardizing the district's federal funding and high school accreditation."The final week of the election is always intense," said Mack Paul, chairman of the Wake County Democratic Party. The daily stream of campaign ads has been made possible by a record amount of contributions, some of which has gone to groups that don't have to publicly identify their donors until later.
The latest campaign finance reports show that the 14 school board candidates have raised $385,909 .
Oh, the teawinkies are screaming their tri-cornered hats off, but the people of this area aren't allowing the loud and obnoxious bullshit that they spew to overwhelm the real message that they are trying to force down the throats of our citizens. Check this and smile.
Is that not completely awesome? w00t!!!!
The ad is discussed here: http://blogs.newsobserver.com/...
"Wake County citizens don't like the forced agenda from the Tea Party takeover of our schools. We want to make sure they know that next Tuesday they can stop the right wing takeover of our schools dead in its tracks," said Dean Debnam, the Director of the NC Futures Action Fund.
The ad features Board Member John Tedesco affirming his support for the Tea Party, calling himself "Tea Party Tedesco." Heather Losurdo, another board candidate, has also voiced her support for the Tea Party in an interview just last week with local ABC television station WTVD. "Yes, I support the Tea Party," Losurdo stated on video tape.
Tea Party leaders across the nation have tried to advance an agenda to discredit, dismantle, destroy, and ultimately privatize our public schools.
This is how progressives get the message out my friends. Straight up, no punches pulled and using the very Tea Party messaging against them.
I am smiling.
