Oklahoma is finally in this thing for real, with an occupation starting tonight, the site being Kerr Park downtown in the heart of our own little financial district. Within two blocks of the park are Bank of America, Bank of Oklahoma Chase and The Federal Reserve.
I have posted an album of photos at my Picasa Gallery.
Apparently I can't post the images or slideshow here, which sucks, since Picasa is my photo repository of choice and it is certainly as legit at some of the other photo hosts that are allowed. What's up with that? But I digress. So here's one I stuck on Photobucket.
The legal team did a great job streamlining the permit process down from 10 days to 2 hours" in a meeting Monday morning with the OKC Police Department. The PD was reportedly quite accommodating, and granted a permit for the occupation in Kerr Park with a few quite reasonable requirements. They even allowed a portapotty to be brought in for the occupiers.
There were already donations of money, blankets and food coming in, so this thing is ON.
More reports later.
