Some people call me the last liberal on Wall Street. That is not really the case, by far. But I am feeling good because some of my fellow contributors and I at www.wallstreetallstars.com are donating our September earnings from the website to pizza for the OWS gang.
We just launched Wall Street All Stars. It is a site where real portfolio managers post commentary about stocks, the market, and their trades. The contributors are a diverse group, including some who don't like OWS. But diversity of opinion is what leads to good investment decisions so that is cool.
Those of use who are contributing the pizza delivery come from a variety of political viewpoints. In fact, I am certain that many of you will be surprised that Cody Willard, formerly of Fox Business News and a one time whipping boy here at Daily Kos came up with the idea of contributing our wages to OWS pizza. Cody's politics favor a rebalancing away from giant corporations, especially banks. Some of his other views would not be welcome here but the fact that he understands and supports OWS is a great sign that the movement has broad support way beyond the progressive base. It is also cool that a liberal like me and Cody see eye to eye on OWS and the issues that are being raised by the movement.
I know it does not need repeating but there are many who work on Wall Street or in the securities industries that support OWS and progressive causes. Most of us are part of the 99%. We just happen to have careers, make a living, and provide for our families while being employed in Wall Street related work. Cody is going to deliver the pizzas himself late this week. Hopefully, the support of some Wall Street All Stars will not only satisfy hunger but provide mental support to those who are giving up everything for a great cause.
