Every once in awhile a Democrat has to turn on the Fox News Entertainment Channel to hear the latest attacks on us and the POTUS. If we can last 30 minutes of listening to their mindless rhetoric and right wing mantra's, we should pat ourselves on the back. Today was the day for me doing just that.
I tuned into the end of Neil Cavuto's show and Eric Bolling was filling in, talking the usual trash talk about the left with the Junior Senator Mike Lee, of Utah, who is supported by the Tea Party. Read what Lee said about Obama's Job Bill and then how Bolling embellished Obama's position on the proposed bill. Read on and see if you don't come to the same conclusion I do ...
Senator Lee on the Jobs Bill, that did not pass in the Senate:
"If Obama is saying he wants to piecemeal this bill, I am happy to cast individual votes on individual components of that even though that's not originally what he asked for. In fact, he told us that this (Jobs bill) is not an à la carte menu. If he wants to go about it that way ... I'll go about it that way. I don't see a lot in there I can support. If we are talking about corporate tax relief, that the President has acknowledged .... we should not have the highest corp tax rate in the world .... I completely agree with him. If he wants to go and do something like that he'll have my support."
Bolling:
"I'm not sure that's what he said. From what I heard and watched from this speech, I heard him saying we are going to get this done with or without you, without congressional approval."
Senator Lee:
"If that is what he means, I have a real problem with that. Article 1, Section 1 of the US Constitution states ... that the Legislative Power of the United States shall be vested in Congress, which shall consist of a Senate and a Congress. Obama just can't make the Law on his own as much as much as he'd like to assume otherwise."
Bolling:
"Will you accept anything with a tax increase?"
Senator Lee:
Blah, blah, "NO"
Here's my take:
We can safely assume that the Tea Party Senator is saying Presidents don't make the law, despite the fact they we already know this, all the while U.S. Presidents have been suggesting bills to be passed in such an aggressive manor since our first President. Here's what most of us don't understand .... that the GOP in the Congress and Senate have not even attempted to do anything to help Americans. Thus, laying the blame back onto the POTUS. This is all part of their campaign, "Make Obama fail and be a one term President.'
I suppose these people on the extreme right, in their twisted efforts to make America fail so the President will fail, don't realize the American public is onto them. Their stalling tactics and just say no stance, is one of the key reasons that has led good citizens from all over the nation to protest in the movement now known as Occupy Wall St. It is a movement that every single politician should be listening to.
