The Daily Bucket is a resource for you to place your casual observations of the natural world into a permanent record. Whether it's biology, geology, astronomy, or climate let us know what is going on and where you are.
Tallahassee, Florida, October 16
Sunny, clear and warm. Current temperature is 30 C (86 F) at 145 PM.
A mockingbird can be heard vigorously vocalizing as well as a blue jay and some other less identifiable birds. One bald eagle sighting today as well as a couple of turkey vultures. Anoles are active, cicadas are calling in the trees, and butterflies are active.
Several dozen American coots can be seen on Lake Jackson through my spotting scope, a sure sign of autumn.
What can you add to the bucket? As always please give at least an approximate location.
