Disclaimer: My feelings about this movement have pretty much grown at the pace of this guy. I was a skeptic - now moved into the cautiously optimistic category. But this is the single best analogy to the Occupy Wall Street Movement I've ever heard. It hit the nail right on the head for a lot of folks sitting on the fence. It's clear, inspiring, and it doesn't sugar coat anything either.
Also, I have a massive crush on Jay Smooth, so there's that.
As an African American, the inclusiveness he talks about stems from distrust, quite frankly back from the days of the Buffalo Soldiers. We have too often participated as a people in 'revolutions' only to be left behind after the wars were 'won'. Poor attendance in OWS Atlanta is a good example of that inherent skepticism showing itself.
But it WILL change. Slowly, but steadily, people are beginning to understand. If I'm (almost) there, you better believe it wont be long before other folks start to let their guard down and get involved in this.
I'm going to bed now (since I'm still lucky enough to have a job!) so enjoy and sleep well.
XOXOX
