Thank you to everyone who read A View From the Shore - I Get So Angry!
I have been up to the office this morning to get a total for The Deckhand's moorage.
EDITED: The office manager will be out from 2:00pm until 3:15pm today for an appointment, but she will be back asap and says it's ok to call into the office and make a payment. She did ask that I coordinate somewhat and try to keep it organised as she does have to also maintain the port office business needs.
FINAL EDIT: The last $70.33 has been pledged to be covered in the morning. This community literally stunned a man with their generosity - to know he wasn't going to lose his home - I was happy to be the messenger.
THANK YOU ALL.
The total amount is $2000 even - they waived some fees and interest, but it's still a lot.
I'm not sure the best way to handle this. Since it's such a large amount I know people want to be sure it's going where I say it is - so I thought the best thing would be to coordinate and not have too many people calling the marina office driving her crazy. LOL
She's a nice lady, we like her.
So - payments made directly to the port of Astoria should be credited to The Eagle, on A* dock. She will know who it is without having to give his name out to strangers - he worries about that having PTSD.
EDITED I'm am idiot without caffeine, *I live on B dock. He lives on A dock.
I have the port office managers name, direct cell and office number available for those who can help and will reply to all PMs requesting this information. She takes lunch about 12:30 or so for an hour each day. We are on PACIFIC time - it's 10:15am as I'm writing this.
$2000 seems a cheap price for home and hope.
You people are amazing. Thank you for trying to help me help my neighbour and friend.
I am open to better coordinating suggestions, I've never tried to do anything quite like this before.
